Mothers Are Invincible
Had big ideas for the blog today, but things took a different turn when my wife was taken to hospital last night after suffering an anaphylactic shock as a result of some allergic reaction. It was rather distressing as she blacked out a couple of times outside the house, but I’m glad to say that she is much better now and came out of hospital this morning - complete with an epi-pen to stab herself with if it happened again! We’ll trust that it won’t!
What I am so grateful about is how wonderfully calm the children, who were in the house at the time, were. I like to think it was partly because of the quick prayer I fired off about them as I went to my wife’s aid, together with neighbours and a very helpful and supportive friend, Sara Cosgrove. But talking with Ali, we also think it was because children just tend to think that mothers will be OK no matter what; they are so used to mothers overcoming all kinds of stuff, battling through life’s challenges such as colds, cut lips, sores from falling off bicycles, impossible homework, impossible siblings, threatening bullies - and dad! They simply assume that mums will be OK. Mothers are invincible! Thank God for mothers everywhere! And praise God that my wonderful wife is fine and back with us all - though I may make the tea tonight!!

Glad to hear that Alison is well, and that Trevor is composed enough to include a word like “anaphylactic” in a post. We’ll stand with you in agreement to refuse any further attacks!

Hi Tina - how nice of you to drop in!
Perhaps I’ll see you at the woman’s prophetic day in Manchester. (29th April) - if of course I don’t see you before then!!!!!

I think I had better make it clear both to Tina and any other reader that it was actually my wife that was making that last comment, and not me. I will not be going to the Women’s Prophetic Day!!!!
