Do read or like the works of Gerard Manley Hopkins at all? He was an English Jesuit nature poet from the mid 1800's.

I just got a site going on Christian nature poetry back in February. No phots yet, though. Some of the stuff is my own, some is from established authors, and some is fresh translations of Biblical poetry.

I'm a Lutheran in America. I've played music for Anglican churches. My husband is a Lutheran pastor, but I didn't include that in the "about me" section of my blog. Sometimes a person just feels a need not to be identified in that way.

I'm about a year older than you, too, but I didn't put my age or photo in my blog.

I'll read your blog more in depth as time goes on.

I was just reading the story of David and Golith in prepatition for a speech I must give in Public Speaking Class. The speech must be based on a children's book. I alway like to reach people who don't know the Lord or have back-slid. As I read the book I saw so many lessons and values that are easily over looked in what people would believe to be a children's story. Not thinking of the stories true source. To get to the point. I agree with your point. That David defeated Goliath because of his pure faith in God and not his own ability. And King Saul did not have true faith in God to send a boy to do what he should have had the faith to do. David stood strong and RAN toward the battle line to meet Goliath. (Was Jesus not the Lion and the Lamb)I believe in God, I love God, I try everyday to run toward the battle with pure faith in God to lead me out because He will. I say this because i used to sit back in church and let others do the fighting that God intended me to do. I know of many more who are, how I use to be. I say to them now. "Stand up and have faith in your God so that you can defeat (kill) your Goliath(s) with their own huge sword. So other can see how great God is! For the love of God, run toward the battle be prepare to fight and the faith that God's will be done."

ty for reading this and God bless you.

Hugh, I agree with you; Andrew Murray is really deep and have benefited much from reading him. I'm currently reading "Andrew Murray on Prayer"-Whitaker House, which is a compilation of several of his books. In the same vein, may I suggest "Freedom From a Self-Centered Life/Dying to Self" by William Law, and "The Power of the Spirit" by the same author.

I love Eugene Peterson!
I read the Message sometimes and think to myself: This guy really gets it!! The gospel is really as simple as he explains it!

I am a musician and I would be honored if you would check out my music. Its all free for download on my site. Anyway, I just thought that I would share.

Thanks,
-Sean

I love George Muller!
His stuff has impacted me in such a deep way, I don’t think I even understand it. I have read most of his books and have been so encouraged by his personal walk with Jesus. He was something special.

I am a musician and GM has inspired many of my songs. I would be honored if you would check out my music on my site. All my music is free for download. Anyway, I just thought that I’d share.

Thanks,

Blogging is a great way of reaching people even though there is more to life.. it can be an outlet to reach people on hot topics.. forgot to add that

Example there was a tv show on tv about the skinhead movement. I did a revew on the show and gave my views with Jesus in mind.. well I get numerous people hitting my blog over that article.. and well it gets them to see things a different way.. Infiltrate the nations in as many ways as you can

Trevor,

Thanks for the opportunity to have met here and engaged the brothers on some interesting and important topics.

Someone once said that time perhaps is our most valuable asset. As you shift priorities in this regard, please know that you are in my prayers as you continue to glorify Christ, whatever His assignment.

Covenant love,

Fruit and Gifts of the Spirit - The essential twin tracks for keeping on target in the Kingdom of God - I agree with your cry for both, and that one doesn't mean the other is ineffective - The ministry of Christ as always shows that fruit and gift go hand in hand - More and More of your Spirit Lord!
